Butterfly Barefoot Sandals: Crochet Pattern

Barefoot butterfly sandals in teal and black

If you’re trying to decide what to do with all the adorable crochet butterflies going around, I have the perfect summer project! You can wear these barefoot or with Flip flops.

Normal weight yarn – 3 or 4

Hook: I

Stitches used:
Ch – Chain Stitch

SC – Single Crochet

DC – Double Crochet

TC – Triple Crochet

Sl St – Slip Stitch

Surface Stitch

Adult and Child Sizes:

Crochet Barefoot Sandals with Multicolored Yarn

Toddler Butterfly Crochet Barefoot Sandals in Pink and Red

For an Adult – Make two large butterflies and 4 small (but don’t do the bodies)

Large Crochet Butterfly

Toddler/Child Size: Make two Medium butterflies and 4 small  (don’t do the bodies)

Medium Butterfly Crochet Pattern

Small Crochet Butterfly

Adult and Child Sizes:

For an Adult – Make two large butterflies and 4 small

Toddler/Child Size: Make two Medium butterflies and 4 small

With black yarn (or your choice of color)

We will be starting with the Toe Loop

Adult: Ch 12, for larger feet Ch 14 – Toddler: Ch 8, Child: Ch 10

Sl St in first Ch, Sl St in the top loop of the bottom of the large or medium butterfly. Surface Stitch up the front of the butterfly to create the body

Here’s a great tutorial if you need help with the Surface Stitch –

When you get to the top we will Ch to create one side of the tie/antennae.

Adult: Ch 120, Toddler/Child: Ch 75)

(You may Ch more of less if you desire a different length tie), knot the end but leave a long enough tail and use that to attach a small butterfly to the end, starting from the bottom of the butterfly sew the tail up around through the center of the butterfly, tie off at the top and split the yarn then trim to make antennae.

Sl St another piece of the same color yarn at the top of the butterfly head to create the other tie/antennae.

Ch (Adult: Ch 120, Toddler/Child: Ch 75)

Sew on the other small butterfly just like the other tie/antennae.
